Valentines Hearts

This was designed to be bigger, and without a pair, but that’s just how it turns out if you make crochet patterns.  They change as you design.  Make a dozen of these and hang them from all of your doorknobs!  Do whatever you like with these adorable little hearts.

MATERIALS

  • Steel 1.25 mm hook
  • #15 thread in red and pink
  • Lace-maker’s crochet kit (scissors, small darning needle, small open stitch marker, etc.)
  • Small amount of stuffing (REALLY small amount–you could almost use a cotton ball to stuff each heart!)

Work another heart following directions above.

Weave both tails in part way, cut to 1 cm.  Place both hearts together, right sides out.  Attach Colour B (red) through both points.  Sc around heart until about 1 cm remains.  Push some stuffing in, along with the first tail.  Continue around until heart is bordered in Colour B.  Sl st, EO.  Poke tail through heart, pull gently, snip.

Make another 3D heart following all of the above directions.  Attach Colour B to red heart between the bumps.  Ch 4″, sl st between bumps on pink heart.  EO, cut tails as explained above.

You now have a pair of hearts to hang wherever you please!  Congrats!
