Striped tuque

I didn’t keep careful track of what yarn I used, I was basically using scraps, but it was some unknown DK weight yarn that I think is acrylic (the blue) and one skein of Hempton yarn (the black.)  Use whatever yarns you want, but DO NOT use WW acrylic!!!  I did once and it doesn’t fit right, it’s humongous with the same number of stitches, and it’s stiff!  I really don’t like that version!

Hook: 3.5 mm

Ribbing:

Ch 8.

1-106:  Ch 1, sc 8 BLO, turn.

Untwist your ribbing so that it lays flat, then press the two ends together and working through both layers of stitches, sl 8 st.

Hat:

1:  Ch 2, work 106 dc around one edge of ring, change to blue as you join.

2-3:  Ch 2, work 106 dc around, join.

Change to black as you join at the end of 3.

4:  Ch 2, work 106 dc around, change to blue as you join.

5-6:  Work normal, change to black after 6.

7:  Work normal, change to blue as you join.

8-9:  Work normal, change to black after 9.

10:  Work normal, change to blue as you join.

11:  Work normal.

12:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 10* rep around.  Change to black as you join.

13:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 9* rep around.  Change to blue as you join.

14: Ch 2, *dec, dc 8* rep around.  Join.

15:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 7* rep around.  Join.

16:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 6* rep around.  Join.

17:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 6* rep around.  Join.

18:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 6* rep around.  Join.

19:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 5* rep around.  Join.

20:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 4* rep around.  Join.

21:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 3* rep around.  Join.

22:  Ch 2, *dec, dc 2* rep around.  Join.

23:  Ch 2, *dec, dc* rep around.  Join.

24:  Ch 2, dec all sts.  End off.

Weave in ends.  Your hat is complete!
