A Scarf Inspires Another Scarf

I finished mom’s scarf.  It’s a bit shorter than she wanted, and it got twisted into a thin rope, but she said that she likes it.

And my sister visited the other day with her daughter (who is less than two years old), and she saw my scarf and wanted one.  In pink.

You see, for the past few days I wore my scarf wrapped around my neck until short ends remained, which I then pinned together with the front of the loops around my neck with a flower pin I crocheted.  She said it looked nice, and she wants one in bright pink with a variegated pink flower pin.  I couldn’t find the right thread for the flower, but I did find something that would work: an already-crocheted light pink flower that my aunt made, stuffed into the skein of thread that was used to make the flower.  I sewed a safety pin to the back, and a button in the middle.  It looks rather nice.  But I didn’t make it.  And it’s not the colour she wanted.  *Shrug*  If she doesn’t like it, I’ll make another.

I finished the book I was reading last night.  The Books of Umber: book three, The End of Time.  I didn’t like the epilogue.  It didn’t fit, and it sounded like somebody else wrote it instead of P. W. Catanese.  AND it skipped more than thirty years!  *Shakes head*  So I intend to write a fanfiction story that rewrites the epilogue.  But how I would write it might invite a fourth book, and I don’t want to write a whole new book–fanfiction and everything!  I’ll just write a new epilogue.

I’ve been looking for new fanfiction websites recently, too.  Because FanFiction.Net, the only one I look at right now, doesn’t have a category for The Books of Umber.  I wonder how they get new categories?  Maybe the administrators have to have read the books.  *Sigh*

I’m embroidering a dragon now.  It’s not realistic, and it’s not from a pattern, and it’s not on anything.  But it’s going to look nice, I think.

I don’t know what else to write here.  I’m somewhat bored.  Maybe I’ll open a Word document and start that epilogue.
